Chapter 12: Swallows of Kabul

These Kabul women are just divine. Musarrat has to be the best spouse ever. Atiq is basically fascinated by Zunaira's beauty because her face is one of the only he's seen in a very long time. Musarrat is not angry with Atiq at all. She's actually happy for him because he is happy. She loves him so much that anything to make him happy, makes her happy. Musarrat even makes rice for the both of them. She asks why Zunaira is being executed and Atiq does not even know. I have respect for him though because he told Musarrat about Zunaira and how he took her food and just watched her for hours. At least he respects and obviously loves Musarrat enough to tell her that.
